Word of the Day: clarity
Image of the Day: gold candle in star holder
Token of the Day: Fantasy Kingdom Collection Pony Tails - miniature pink unicorn, mauve unicorn and a turquoise pegasus.
Clarity - seeking clarity, clearing up, as clear as a bell, clarion bell.
remove shutters
draw back curtains
rip off netting
that's the easy bit...
now roll up sleeves
brush down cobwebs
get to work with sponge,
hot water, soap and elbow grease.
no light through shutters
curtains block all but brightest of moons and suns
netting obscures all detail
but the dirt and grime
the insistent cobwebs and bird splats
they are the real cause, the true reason
why i cannot see out and you cannot see in.
change the water
now take scrunched-up newspaper (Guardian or Independent?)
add vinegar to the bucket
and begin to remove the smears from the glass.
the sun is revealed
as the wind pushes the clouds along
and that perfect window
shows its many imperfections
unlock, lift out panes
(this is hard work - the frames
have been painted so they are
stuck to the surround)
and finally,
breathless and perspiring
the entirety of what is beyond the window is revealed
and light pours in to the room.
The more you look the more you will see - not because there is more there to be seen but because you are ready, you have opened your eyes, your heart and your spirit to see and that statue you never noticed, the inscription on a wall, the detail in stained glass window are brought into focus, the scales drop from your eyes and you see the truth.
Quakers have a method called Meeting for Clearness which is an opportunity for individuals, couples, groups who have a concern, question, issue to come together to find the answer within. Others are present to support, holding those concerned in the Light, offering ministry but not handing out solutions. Together, in a loving and caring exercise a way forward may be found.
Clarity means clearness, brightness, transparency. Being transparent is a choice for life. It frees me up to hold no more secrets, no deep voids and no fear. Power comes from within and is handed out, given away. I reveal my inner self to others and by doing so i can see more clearly too.
Clarity/transparency is radical authenticity, it is the ultimate challenge to the ego
I will finish with a quote from Andrew Cohen, a life coach writing on living transparently:
The real test, for all of us, is in relationship. Come together. When there’s radical transparency and the ego steps aside, each single individual in that extraordinary collective context has access to the power and depth and clarity of the enlightened mind. And that’s when enlightenment really starts to take on new meaning and significance for us all... Transparency is sliding aside the curtains of the soul revealing its character. It is not easy or quick to do if there have been many years, many scars, many fears that stand in the way. The opaque window will neither let in light nor let light out.

Wipe the window, look in the mirror, delve within - LOOk, see, view.... consider, interpret, discern ...
